Handicrafts trade fair

The Fortezza da Basso hosts ART – International Handicraft Trade Fair that came to the 75th edition does not fail to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy with a real journey through the boots, declined according to traditions, crafts and artisan products .

This ideal representation of the peninsula part of the “northern” region of Valle d’Aosta, chosen to host the 2011 and can have many products with a long tradition on display at the Hall of gravel, one of the many places where the show is divided.

Much space is devoted also to foreign countries, with a host nation, Spain, and representatives of Brazil, China and Russia, the countries most interesting from the point of view of the current economic scene.

Place of honor for Japan, which will show off its elegant and ancient traditions associated with the habit of kimono and yukata, as well as to the best-known work of origami, calligraphy and cooking.

Artisans at work live with shops of Art, a real event organized by the Foundation for the Arts and Crafts in collaboration with CNA and Confartigianato.

There are many other novelty of the show: we report here the space designed for children’s crafts in the family, with the chance to test their dexterity thanks to the free workshops developed by OMA (Centre for arts and crafts) and the Museum Horne.
